The woman, who selected the name ‘DD’ when she stopped by lottery headquarters in Baltimore to pick up her prize, first bought the Diamond Bingo 4th Edition instant ticket at Green Mart Food Store at 1940 County Road in District Heights on her way to work.
Despite playing lottery games for less than a year, DD told officials that she chose that particular game because she grew up playing bingo with her grandmother and it reminded her of the good memories they’d shared.
DD plans to put her $30,000 winning “in the bank for a rainy day,” she told lottery officials.
“I never expected to win this much but I don’t want to waste it.”
Three of the seven top prizes remain for the Diamond Bingo 4th Edition.
